Historic Third Ward Neighborhood

Meeting on State Street houses--Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007. YMCA Party Room
Briefly, the proposal calls for the homes at 1406 and 1408 State St. to either be moved or taken down, and replaced with a 3-story supervised apartment building with some retail included. It would be 53 units, with a potential 153 residents, and 67 underground parking stalls. The Buffington Home would be used as the “entry” and office to the complex.
It is important to note that this is a proposal. No plans have been submitted to the city, at this time. The proposal will be presented and they will answer some questions, but then they will be leaving to allow us to discuss the proposal. As info, the meeting will adjourn no later than 8:30.
