THIRD WARD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

New Business:
Jim Southworth from the EC Police Department spoke regarding the vandalism that has happened in the Summit Ave. area. He shared that the suspects are 3 or 4 17-18 year old males, not residing in our neighborhood. The feeling is that the suspects are connected with other recent car break-ins in Eau Claire. Police are checking any suspicious behavior after midnight. Officer Southworth recommended Jack Corey as someone who could share information regarding a neighborhood watch with our committee. We also discussed increasing lighting in the neighborhood.

Incorporation: John Hibbard reviewed the benefits of the TWNA incorporating (see November minutes). MOTION: John moved that the TWNA incorporate. The motion was seconded and passed. MOTION made and passed that John Hibbard is the registered agent for the corporation.
Chamber Dues: We also discussed the issue of the city paying dues to the Chamber of Commerce, which is a lobbying organization supporting TABOR. The city is currently deciding whether to continue paying dues or not. Meeting attendees were encouraged to contact the city council with opinions on this matter.
Parking Petition: (Sue Miller) Parking in the 300 block of Lincoln Ave. has been changed from 8-5 Mon.-Sat. to 9-4 Mon.-Fri. to put the posting on this block in line with other surrounding blocks.
Riverbank: permit expired Oct. 31, but work is still occurring. No fines are being applied. Reportedly the material scraped from the river bottom was spread onto University ball fields on Stein Blvd.
East St. Parking: gravel parking lot was defeated on a 4-4 tie by planning commission. Thanks Garry and Curtis!
